Elcometer are showing two new designs of coating testing product, the Elcometer 1720 Washability Tester and the Elcometer 4340 Automatic Film Applicator. These two products can be used together to meet the requirements of EN ISO 11998, Determination of wet-scrub and cleanability of coatings.
The Elcometer 1720 is a robust, reliable and versatile machine for testing the abrasion, washability, brushability and resistance under wet or dry conditions of a wide range of materials including paint, lacquers, inks, coatings, leather, wood, plastic, printed materials, fabrics etc.
EN ISO 11998 specifies that for testing films for their washability an automatic film applicator with an application speed of 10 – 15 mm/s using a doctor blade applicator with a gap width of at least 60mm be used.
The Elcometer 4340 Automatic Film Applicator and the 3700 adjustable Doctor Blade Film Applicator meets this requirement exactly.
