Rio Tinto Minerals will be presenting two new talc grades, Luzenac HAR® T84 and Jetfine® 1A
Luzenac HAR® T84 is produced using a proprietary delaminating process which significantly enhances lamellarity compared with conventional micronizing techniques, resulting in improved gloss, adhesion and anticorrosion properties. Luzenac HAR® T84 is recommended for use in coil-coating and intumescent paint applications in association with Firebrake® zinc borate from Rio Tinto Minerals
Jetfine® 1A is a new, ultrafine, highly lamellar talc with a 5µm top cut and 1µm mean diameter. With its high brightness (L* = 96.5), Jetfine® 1A is recommended for medium and high PVC coatings. Jetfine ® 1A is used as a matting agent in low PVC solvent-based systems. In can-coatings, Jetfine® 1A enables the TiO2 content to be reduced whilst maintaining gloss and improving salt spray behaviour.
