Biolin 100, a biobased resin for jointing compounds

Until now, polybutadiene will be regarded as the only fast curing solution for binders for one component gap fillers for garage drive ways or terrace paving stones. Biobased components such as oxidatively drying oils show disadvantageous slower drying properties. ASK Chemicals has developed with Biolin 100 a binder based on natural oils, which combines the best of both worlds.

Epoxy esters are known for very good adhesion properties to metal and other various substrates. Thanks to further modification with fatty acids and acrylates, important properties such as hardness/elasticity compromise, or compatibility with various binder systems can be achieved. This results in a wide range of application possibilities, for instance in 1K water-based paint formulations.

Functional Mineral Fillers for Opacity Optimization of Paint and Coating Formulations

Opacity is the result of a rather complex interplay of various components and parameters. In practice, this can be easily achieved by adding white pigment such as titanium dioxide.
However, mineral fillers based on Calcium Carbonates can be used at TiO2 extenders and help to reduce formulation cost sharply. Furthermore, new developments in calcium carbonate minerals offer new opportunities to optimize the performance of paints & coatings as well as the ecological footprint of the formulations.

There is no “universal” surface control additive but siloxane-based surface control additives offer the formulator useful tools that can be employed to create high-performance coatings. Our matt Relca range is the next generation of water-based resins used in any coating where we need to get a matt or satin effect without the use of standard matting agents like silica or waxes. They provides also additional properties like anti-blocking, wetting abilities, or a soft touch with high flexibility.
