Accelerate your R&D: Rapid Corrosion Screening & Liquid Multi-Metal Inhibitors

In a demanding market, formulators need speed. This workshop focuses on practical solutions for the lab technician. We start with "Rapid Screening Methods" (Bucket Test, Watch Glass, Wet Adhesion) that predict corrosion failure long before standard tests. Next, we reveal liquid alternatives to Zinc Phosphate and Silanes. The TACorr range. Discover how to achieve superior corrosion protection and perfect adhesion on difficult substrates (Steel, Aluminum, Copper), while avoiding stability issues and harsh labeling. A pragmatic approach for modern formulation, ensuring you fail fast in screening to succeed sooner in the market.

Developing a new range of bio-renewable resins is more then ever possible with Susterra®, a 100% bio-renewable diol which enables the development of a variety of resins and polymers for the coatings, inks and adhesives industry

Replacing fossil fuel building blocks for the development of resins and polymers with bio-renewable materials remains a challenge. In this workshop we will show that Susterra® 1,3-propanediol provides a range of possibilities to defossillize fast without compromising on quality and with the effect of a substantial reduction on green house gas emissions. Primient Covation performed a range of technical development work showcasing the use as building block for polyesters used in hybrid powder coatings, development of PDO diacrylates and also the usage in alkyd binders to reduce viscosity enabling lower VOC’s and/or easier emulsification. Also the improvement in wood penetration will be shown based on preliminar data.

Cooling energy savings from high reflective coatings using microspheres / lightweight fillers

In many countries, energy consumption in the building sector accounts for around one-third of total energy consumption – with up to 60% attributable to residential air conditioning. Global warming is driving higher cooling demand and energy costs, even in temperate zones.
In our presentation - including a case study on high reflective coatings / cool roof - we'll present how optimized formulations with functional fillers and best-in class microspheres (hollow glass microspheres) may achieve high performing solutions in terms of reflectance, emissivity, heat-build up, thermal conductivity, and dirt pick up resistance without compromising the commercial feasibility of the final application

Improvement Pigment Dispersion Efficiency and Paints Performance with New Generation Aminoalcohols

Advancion's amino alcohols have an exceptional ability to wet, grind and stabilize a wide range of pigments, and to optimize other wetting and dispersing agents, and to reduce VOCs. Their excellent combination of adsorption on pigments and substitution of surfactant and dispersant counterions improves the performance of paints and their dry films. The new generation of OPTIMINETM outperforms AMP, improves coverage, gloss and corrosion resistance, and optimizes TiOâ‚‚ and primary dispersant content. Their excellent compatibility with registered biocides allows them to improve biostability. Examples of dispersions of TiOâ‚‚, organic pigments (OPs) and anti-corrosion pigments (ACP) are revealed, making them essential for the development of high-performance paints and coatings.

Talc alternatives for Decorative Paints

The IARC and ECHA classifications have increased attention on talc, particularly when there is a risk of contamination with undesirable fibres. Although asbestos free talc is not classified as carcinogenic by IARC, regulatory expectations encourage formulators to secure their supply chains.
Mineral alternatives such as calcium carbonate, kaolin, or functional fillers help maintain key performance properties such matte appearance, opacity, and rheology while ensuring compliance and reliability.

Cutom manufacturing for coatings: from molecule to ton-scale production (agents polymers additives...)

Industrial paints and coatings rely on specific application agents (wetting agents, dispersants, surface tension modifiers) and on functional polymers or polymer precursors that determine film formation and final performance. These materials are often tailor-made, but their industrialization raises major challenges: process robustness, HSE constraints, reproducibility, cost control and supply security.
Based on concrete industrial examples, this workshop shows how custom manufacturing helps secure these critical steps, supports scale-up, and enables an efficient transition from lab to ton-scale production while reducing the industrial burden for paint manufacturers.
