CLP Safety Label: a regulatory requirement for hazardous chemical products
PACKAGING AND CONTAINERSAny chemical product classified as hazardous must be placed on the market in packaging bearing a CLP-compliant safety label, in accordance with the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council. This regulation aims to ensure clear and harmonised communication of hazards associated with chemical substances and mixtures, in order to protect human health and the environment.
The CLP Regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) applies to all actors in the supply chain, including manufacturers, importers, downstream users and distributors. It establishes EU-wide harmonised labelling requirements through the use of hazard statements, precautionary statements, standardised pictograms and other mandatory information elements.
