The FV-30 evaluates extensional properties through controlled flow. The sample (< 1 mL) is placed between two circular plates. The upper plate rises at a constant speed, creating progressive extensional deformation.
The system incorporates a side camera that captures and analyses images to quantify filament thickness, as well as a force sensor that simultaneously measures cohesive and adhesive properties.
Advantages: Low sample volume, direct quantitative measurement, comprehensive characterisation, reproducible conditions.
