RAW MATERIALSAdhesiveConstruction chemicalsCoatingChemicalsBindersInkKuraray Poval, a Kuraray division, pioneered development of polyvinyl alcohol (KURARAY POVAL™) in the early 1950s in Japan. From ceramic binders to adhering to substrates like paper and wood, KURARAY POVAL™ improves tensile adhesive strength as a sole adhesive or as an additive. It features water-solubility, excellent film forming characteristics, high tensile strength and elasticity, as well as resistance against organic solvents and dispersing power and is inherently biodegradable in water/soil in aqueous solution form, adequate for microplastic-free recipes.
ELVANOL™ is Kuraray's PVOH brand which presents a unique particle morphology. This modified structure improves its water solubility and dissolving time, expanding its range of application.
Finally, EXCEVAL™ is the trademark of Kuraray’s hydrophobically modified polyvinyl alcohol. It boosts the level of performance without the addition of any cross-linking agents thanks to its excellent water-resistance.
