SILICONE SURFACE ADDITIVES

SILICONE SURFACE ADDITIVES

RAW MATERIALS

ORDISOL® PRODUCT RANGE

Silicone surface additives are widely used products in various industrial applications, such as paints formulation,
inks and coatings. They are characterized for their ability to reduce surface tension and improve system wetting
on different surfaces while others offer special properties.

In Concentrol, we synthetize the polyether-polysiloxane copolymers that form the basis of silicone surface additives.
This allows us to synthetize unique structures tailored to each system and application required by costumer. Our nonhydrolysable polyether-polysiloxane copolymers provide very high resistance to degradation under extreme conditions.

The ORDISOL FAMILY range offers a wide variety of silicone surface additives, providing the best choice for
formulators seeking to optimise the surface properties of coatings.

Substrate Wetting and Anti-cratering Additives (ORDISOL® SWT)

Specially designed for printing inks and aqueous systems where a drastic reduction in surface tension is required. In this type of coatings, it is crucial as they present poor substrate wetting due to the high surface tension of water (72,4 mN/m at 25°C). They are also ideal for improving levelling and reducing craters on contaminated surfaces. In this product line,
Concentrol offers additives capable of reducing the surface tension of water to values close to 20 mN/m.
These additives can also improve the ability of liquids to penetrate the pores and cracks of surfaces.

Surface Control Additives (ORDISOL® SLP)

Universal additives suitable for solvent-borne, solvent-free, and aqueous coatings systems. They are characterized by improving levelling and flow, as well as reduce crater formation. In addition, they can
modify the surface properties of the coating, such as slip, mar resistance, gloss or incorporate release
properties.
